Taylor Swift record company says Spotify paid a lot less than $6 million

The numbers don’t lie, Taylor Swift’s paycheck from Spotify is a lot less than the $6 million it’s promising.

Spotify, the world’s biggest subscription music streaming service, paid Swift less than $500,000 in the last 12 months for listening by its U.S. users, Scott Borchetta, CEO of Swift’s record label Big Machine, told Time magazine. Counting all listening worldwide, that number jumps to $2 million, Jonathan Prince, a Spotify spokesman, told Mashable.
