Hackers have stolen as much as $1 billion from banks in the U.S. and around the world in one of the biggest cyber-heists ever, Russian security company Kaspersky Lab reports
According to the report, which was first delivered to The New York Times and is slated to become widely available Monday, the hacker group, which includes members from Russia, China and Europe, has been active since late 2013, stealing from more than 100 banks in 30 countries
To do this, hackers used malware that infiltrated the banks’ computers, looking for weaknesses in their daily operations.
