Uber suspends operations in Nevada after ruling

Uber suspended operations in Nevada late Wednesday, after a Washoe County District Court judge granted the state's request for a court order blocking the ride-sharing service. The judge said Uber's refusal to comply with state laws regulating commercial motor carriers and passenger transportation services could put the public's safety at risk

Nevada's attorney general filed a lawsuit last month arguing that the Internet application matching riders with drivers using personal cars for a fee infringes on the franchise rights of taxi companies and cabdrivers serving fare-paying passengers under state oversight. Twitter to begin tracking which apps you download

Twitter will soon start keeping tabs on the apps you download

An app update, slated to roll out to iOS users Wednesday and Android users in the next week, will add a setting that allows the social network to keep track of the apps you download, the company announced Wednesday.

The goal, Twitter says, is to provide users with a "more tailored experience." By tracking the apps people are downloading, the company can better gauge users' interests and surface better suggestions of new accounts to follow and, most importantly, more relevant ads.

You can now edit Microsoft Office documents from within Dropbox

Dropbox just made good on its earlier promise of integrating its mobile apps with Microsoft Office

The cloud storage company updated its iOS (App Store link and Android (Google Play link) apps on Tuesday with new Microsoft Office support that allows users users to open documents, spreadsheets or presentations stored in their Dropbox accounts and edit them with Office apps.

Users can take advantage of this feature by selecting the new "edit" button while viewing a document in Dropbox. This opens the document in the corresponding Office app (Word, Excel or PowerPoint); those who don't have the Office apps already installed will be prompted to download the relevant app. Changes made in the Office apps will automatically be synced and saved to your Dropbox account. ...

Vine adds a feature so you’ll never miss your favorite videos

Vine upgraded its app on Tuesday to include a "favorite" option, so you can make sure that you see any and all videos from your most treasured Vine users.

The new feature will send a push notification and notify you in your feed when a favorited account posts a video. You can favorite an account by tapping the star-shaped icon that's in the upper-right hand corner of the app screen
